I’AM going to the Copperbelt on serious engagement with no time to be engulfed in Chishimba Kambwili’s usual pettiness and competition of insults, says new Copperbelt Minister Japhen Mwakalombe.

Mr Mwakalombe, who was on Tuesday swapped with his counterpart Bowman Lusambo told the Daily Nation in an interview that he is above petty politics practiced by Mr Kambwili, the Roan member of Parliament.

His statement comes after the embattled MP attacked him and Mr Lusambo.

Mr Kambwili who has been at loggerheads with Mr Lusambo turned to his facebook page immediately news broke out that President Edgar Lungu had reshuffled his cabinet and swapped the two, attacking the duo, a post he later deleted after criticism from his followers.

“Dr Bowman Lusambo, there can only be one alpha male on the Copperbelt. You were always too excited and big headed to be given the most important provincial ministry.

“To the new appointee, Mr Mwakalombe, on the Copperbelt we do not tolerate indiscipline and disrespect, come and work and not to play politics or else you will also be made to pack and leave,” part of Mr Kambwili’s posting reads.

But Mr Mwakalombe took a swipe at Mr Kambwili saying he would not sink to his low levels of political immaturity.

Mr Mwakalombe said he was going to the Copperbelt to work for the people by delivering the promises that the PF made in 2016 and not to engage on retrogressive politics with Mr Kambwili.

Mr Mwakalombe said he is going to work with anyone regardless of political affiliation for the betterment of the people of Copperbelt.

“He should know that I don’t have time for insults and petty talks, I will spend time working for our people on the Copperbelt and not for personal engagement. I am not going there for lectures from Mr Kambwili.
