UPND Kalomo Central MP rejected

By ANDREW MUKOMA

TAXI drivers and some youths in Kalomo have called for a leadership change at parliamentary level in this year’s general elections.

They said they have demanded that seating Member of Parliament, Mr Harry Kamboni should now rest because he has not performed according to the people’s expectations.

Kalomo Taxi Drivers Association vice chairperson, Honesty Namunyenu said people in Kalomo Central constituency had lost confidence in Mr Kamboni and would not vote for him if the party imposed him on them.

Mr Namunyenu and others expressed this during the handing over of application papers of former Kalomo Council chairperson, Smart Muwele who is the UPND Kalomo Central parliamentary aspiring candidate.

“Last time, they gave us someone we didn’t want and left out Mr Muwele.  As a result, a lot of people didn’t vote even for our president, Mr Hakainde Hichilema.

“So this time around, we want everyone to vote, we want someone who is popular, someone who the people want but if what happened last time will repeat itself, then we will not vote, again,” Mr Namunyenu said.

Mr Muwele said time has come for Kalomo Central to have proper representation as he submitted his application papers at the district secretariat on Tuesday.
