DPP MATTER ADJOURNED TO SEPT 2

By NATION REPORTER

THE matter involving the Director of Public Prosecutions Lillian Siyunyi’s appearance before the Judicial Complaints Commission (JCC) was adjourned after she demanded that her response will be in writing.

Ms Siyunyi and the JCC have been going back and forth as earlier she demanded that President Hakainde Hichilema lifts her oath of secrecy for her to divulge certain information.

However Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha rejected the request and ordered that the DPP goes ahead and answer the DPP. This time around Ms Siyunui told the Vincent Malambo chaired JCC that she would want to respond to all complaints levelled against her in writing. Which forced the commission to adjourn the matter to September 2. 2022.

Many stakeholders however have called on government to lift her oath so that she is not gagged by virtual of her office.
