KABWATA Ward Six will soon have a new police post to boost security situation in the area, Ward Councilor Longa Chiboboka has revealed.

Mr. Chiboboka told the Daily Nation in an interview the ward only relied on Kabwata police station which also serviced other areas like Kamwala and Libala.

“I am glad to say that we have in the pipeline a police post which will be named Richard Kachingwe police post. It will be built in Kabwata Site and Service and the structure is already there.

“As I am talking now, the architectural works are being worked upon by the Lusaka City Council and what is remaining is to submit the diagram to the Police Command for assessment to ensure that it is in conformity with the design of a standard police post,” Mr. Chiboboka said.

He said the project will be financed using the Constituency Development Fund, adding that he and area MP Given Lubinda were committed to ensure the police post was built. “Once we have that facility we are going to have increased patrols in the area and enhance the security situation in Kabwata Ward Six and Kabwata Constituency in general. These major projects that are taking effect and shape.

“This is the work we were elected for – to spearhead development at the ward level and this is what the people said they would want in terms of security. We are exactly implementing what the people mandated us to do. This is the social contract that we signed with the people,” he said.
