Initiator and propounder of the Zambia’s first president feature film/documentary ‘The Struggle’ Frank Kasonde says the project is on course and his team is looking forward to get as many partners as possible to complete this important task.

Giving an update on the progression of the film, Kasonde said his team has made great strides on the project and are still open to more partnerships.

“We have managed to build a high profiled and skilled team working on the project. These include Zambia’s best filmmaker, actor and director and multiple times award winner Owas Ray Mwape, Tivo Shikapwasha who is one of the country’s best film and musical director,” he says.

“Owas Crystal Films and Old Age Film Production are the producers and of course, the project has been officially endorsed by the ministry of arts and tourism as well as Dr. Kaunda himself.”

Kasonde believes the real story behind the struggle for independence has never been told in artistic form.

“We continue to enjoy the great wisdom from our freedom fighters and benefit greatly from their input. However, the time has come to stand on the rooftops and tell the untold story, relive the dream once held by a man who had a vision for freedom. The time has come to hear the truth behind the struggle,” he adds.

‘The struggle is a screenplay that will unfold the historical events during the fight for political freedom by depicting the historical life of the first and former republican president of an independent Zambia Dr. Kenneth Kaunda.
