Don’t use Police to fight your battles, opposition tell HH

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema should not use the police to fight his political battles especially that he was once a victim of police brutality himself, says Chishimba Kambwili and the New Congress Party.

Mr Kambwili, whose sentiments were echoed by NCP President Peter Chanda said that it was unfortunate that the head of State was using state institutions like the police to fix his political opponents in this instance, Mr Davies Chama, a former minister who was arrested in Lusaka and bundled to Western Province where he was charged for the offence of attempted murder.

Mr Kambwili said he felt bad because President Hichilema once experienced such things and if he was human, could not want a fellow human being to go through the same experience.

‘’I can’t let another person go through the same thing I went through as I was persecuted from all spheres but I forgave them and would not want to see my fellow human being going through the same,” Mr Kambwili  said.

Mr Chanda said the investigations were selective as there was a current MP who had instructed his cadres to pounce on a PF suppporter who unfortunately lost his life in Western Province but nothing happened to them.
