THE Zambian Judiciary needs total cleansing for the people to be assured of justice again because it has been deeply infiltrated by the cartel, Save Life Zambia leader Joseph Kasongo has charged.

Mr Kasongo said it was unfortunate that the judicial system had been turned into a circus by the cartel, whose agents are ignoring regulations and ethics with impunity in the discharge of their duties.

He told the Daily Nation that it was no secret that the Judiciary had been infiltrated by the cartel leading to the numerous ambiguities that had been observed in the recent past.

“How do you entertain a baseless case instead of throwing it out, what interest do you have as a judicial officer? Zambians are smelling a rat,” said Mr Kasongo.

Mr Kasongo said that Zambians were no longer assured of justice from the courts of law because of the laissez-faire and biased attitude being witnessed among some judicial officers.

He warned that people would lose confidence completely – if they have not done so already – in the judicial system if it was left in its current form.

Mr Kasongo reiterated that the Judiciary needed total cleansing for the people to be assured of justice from the courts again.

“Yes, the Judiciary needs total cleansing and no doubt at all that it has been infiltrated by the cartel. That people will completely lose confidence in the country’s judicial system if it was left in its current form. I think the infiltration is too deep and needs urgent attention,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr Kasongo pointed out that the same cartel that had destroyed previous governments was still active even today.
