‘YOU CAN’T FOOL US’

HAKAINDE Hichilema and South Africa’s Mmusi Maimane are not fooling anyone by nominating the UPND leader as the recipient of the extra ordinary contribution to peace in Africa award, when he does not deserve any peace award, 3rd Liberation Movement (3rd LM) president Enoch Tonga has charged.

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, owned by South Africa’s Democratic Alliance (DA) leader, Mr Maimane has nominated Mr Hichilema to be the guest of honour and recipient of this year’s African Freedom award ceremony in South Africa.

But Mr Tonga said that the whole move was meant to hoodwink the public as it was clear that Mr Hichilema did not deserve any peace award.

He reiterated that there was no way any well-meaning organisation would award Mr Hichilema on that basis, when he had been turning down any efforts for peace in the country.

Mr Tonga said that it was laughable that Mr Maimane, who is a friend to the UPND leader had decided to deceive people, by misusing his organisation to falsely eulogise his friend.

“Everyone knows that Mr Hichilema and Mr Maimane are friends, so it’s laughable that he has decided to use the foundation, which he has hijacked together with his friends in the DA to hoodwink people. Award Hichilema, for what?” he questioned.

Mr Tonga said that awards should be given to well deserving individuals and not for patronage or political expedience.

He pointed out that Mr Hichilema had even failed to be a part of national prayers and that any activities that encouraged peace in the country.
