VIOLENT attacks in Chawama constituency between UPND and PF have reportedly resurfaced leading to severe injuries among cadres.
And area Member of Parliament (MP) Tasila Lungu Mwansa is saddened with the resurgence of violence in the area, among people that she calls family.
According to a resident of Chawama, the violent attacks ensued when the two political parties clashed at the burial of their members at Memorial Park cemetery while clad in their respective party regalia on Saturday.
The sources said the UPND cadres who were burying the wife of their member while the PF were interring a party stalwart.
The ruling party cadres were angered when they saw the PF in their regalia and set upon them.
“I am saddened as Chawama Constituency MP to have to report to the nation that violent incidents continue leading to serious injuries of our several family members,” she said.
When contacted Police Spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga said they have not yet received a report.
