THIEVES in Twibukishe township of Kitwe have gone on rampage uprooting gates and selling them to Scrap Metal Dealers in Kitwe and other parts of the Copperbelt.
And Nkana Member of Parliament Binwell Mpundu has said, apart from uprooting gates in Twibukishe Township, a gang of thieves were also harassing truck drivers whose vehicles were moving slowly because of the bad state of Central Street and Mindolo road which connects to Chibuluma Road.
Mr Mpundu said he had received a lot of reports of thefts and other criminal activities in the constituency including uprooting gates which were being sold to Scrap Metal Dealers.
Mr Mpundu said during a community meeting in Nsombo road in Twibukishe township that scrap metal dealers who were buying stolen goods and property like uprooted gates were committing a serious offence and once identified will face the wrath of the law.
“I can confirm that i have been receiving reports of criminal activities in Nkana constituency particularly here in Twibukishe township where people with criminal minds are uprooting gates and selling them to scrap metal dealers.”
