PATRIOTIC Front (PF) does not have a group called National Drivers Group on the Copperbelt and therefore, the Ministry of Home Affairs must deal with anyone masquerading as a member of such an organisation, PF Copperbelt youth secretary Christopher Kalenge has charged.

Mr. Kalenge said the PF youths’ loyalty had always been to the President and party secretary general Davies Mwila and legitimate party structures and that the Copperbelt will not tolerate splinter groups which were out to bring confusion in the party.

He said the youth leadership had observed with dismay that the same group had been issuing statements to discredit Mr. Mwila as having failed to run the party but said such a group was imaginary as it was not within the party structures.

“We would like to categorically state that we don’t have any group calling itself as PF National Drivers Group on the Copperbelt and we find the calls by the same non-existent organisation that Mr. Mwila has failed to run the party as unfortunate. We appeal to Hon. Stephen Kampyongo, who is in charge of the party and national security, to warn this group against causing confusion.

“As PF youths on the Copperbelt, our loyalty is with President Edgar Lungu and Mr. Mwila as party’s chief executive officer and we would like to put it on record that splinter groups that are not on the PF structures will not be entertained on the Copperbelt. We challenge this group to point to us the failures of Mr. Mwila,” Mr. Kalenge said.

He said patriotic members who loved the party and were eager to see Government deliver on its promises to the Zambain people would never engage in such activities being undertaken by members belonging to the group.

“If people claim to love the PF, no one can advocate for divisions. We need to be united. Our focus should be to deliver development to the people of Zambia who voted for the PF overwhelmingly. Every PF member who loves the party should strive to see it united and grow.

“We need a stronger PF and to achieve this call, we need to be loyal to the current party leadership. If people can’t be loyal to the secretary general, then they are not loyal to the president,” he said.
