Mulenga in new China deal

 FORMER Chipolopolo striker Jacob Mulenga has signed a two-year deal with a Chinese League one side Liaoning Kaixin.

Mulenga who was in an impressive form at Shijiazhuang Yongchan FC joins Zambian striker James Chamanga at Kaixin.

Kaixin who were relegated to Division One last year, announced on their website that they had completed a deal with the 34- year-old.

He scored 27 goals in 72 appearances at Shijiazhuang.

Meanwhile, Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda said Chamanga and Mulenga would make a deadly partnership capable of tormenting teams in the Chinese league.

Nyirenda was confident Mulenga would impress at his new club owing to his discipline and hard work.

“I have always said this, Mulenga is a disciplined and hardworking player who will easily cement a place in the starting 11. The partnership of Chamanga and Mulenga will definitely benefit the team greatly,” he said.

Mulenga last year announced his retirement from national team duty.
