‘Lusaka July’ goes  international

 AFRICA’s top fashion designers will gather in Lusaka to showcase their work at this year’s ‘Lusaka July’ slated for July 8.

The highly anticipated event would be held alongside the Zambia Polo Association tournament under the theme ‘African Luxury’. ‘Lusaka July’ is a Zambian social event that blends fashion with equestrian sport.

The inaugural ‘Lusaka July’ was held in Lusaka last year under the theme ‘Polo-Glam’.

According to the organisers, PR Girl Media, various designers from South Africa, Botswana, Ghana and Zambia have so far confirmed their participation.

The event would be hosted by singer and media personality Cleo Ice Queen at Lusaka Polo Club situated in the showground starting at 11:00 am.

“Socialites, celebrities and A-listers will meet to indulge in a day of luxury and glamour,” reads part of the statement issued by PR Girl Media. “Attendants will be treated to exquisite food and drinks while they relax to the view of Zambia’s best polo players.” Entry fee has been pegged at K 700 per person and pre-sale tickets are currently available at The Wine Shop both at Arcades and Centro Mall in Lusaka.

South African fashion icon, Boity Thulo, is expected to grace the event which would also be televised live on Trace Africa covering 18 African countries. The event would be spiced with performances by ZARANI and the award-winning Afro Red band.

Proflight Zambia, The Wine Shop, Trace Africa, Power FM and Kreative Kingdom have backed the event.

Other sponsors include Radisson Blu Hotel, Hotel Intercontinental and TAG media.
