Zambia needs political transformation

By NATION REPORTER

ZAMBIA now needs to transform its politics, from backward politics of caderism, insults, and cheap hired propaganda, and ideological bankruptcy, to politics of ideas and meaningful sustainable development, Movement for National Transformation (MNT) founding president Dr Daniel Shimunza has said.

Dr Shimunza said that politics and economics were inseparable and statistical growth of GDP, without human development, was deceptive economics.

“We must not wait for vision 2063, but work towards beating that deadline in our benchmarking,” he said.

And Dr Shimunza said Zambia needed to transform its military so that the country would add value to economic growth during peace times.

He said this would transform into an army to defend the sovereign democratic state, during unlikely events of wartime.

“Therefore, deterrents to achieving these said underscored gaps, will be the determinant of actualisation of the; national, regional, and continental economic industralisation agenda. The nation is advised in this analysis and evaluation accordingly,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dr Shimunza commended government, for hosting successfully the just ended 4th African Union (AU) summit.

He said the new dawn needed commendation for hosting successfully the just ended 4th African Union, later on, called the (AU) Summit.

“Although, this was initiated under the Patriotic Front (PF), execution, successfully, has been under the current government of His Excellency, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema. This is as it should be for continuity, in our democracy, and Presidency,” he said.
