THERE was laughter in a Lusaka Local Court when a woman said that her husband has been denying her conjugal rights and that when she forced herself on him, he threw her off the bed.

This is in a case in which Brenda Kayemba, 23, of Lusaka West sued her husband, Antony Kayemba, 32, for reconciliation after separating for a year.

The two got married in 2011 and have one child.

Brenda told Senior Court Magistrates Miyanda Banda, Pauline Newa and Ronnie Shafwensha at Matero Local Court that problems started six months after they got married because Kayemba started sleeping in a pair of jean trousers and a T-shirt.

He also refused to make love to her saying she was not a woman of his taste as he wanted a fat woman.

She explained that at one time she forced Kayemba to make love to her and he threw her off the bed.

Brenda further told the court that on September 28, 2016 Kayemba packed her belongings in a Chitenge material and took her to her parents.

“Two days after I left the matrimonial home I was shocked to find a pregnant woman wearing Kayemba’s T-shirt in our home,’’ said Brenda.

In defence, Kayemba said that he did want to reconcile with Brenda because she had been reporting him to police whenever he beat her and that when she fell sick her mother brought a witch finder in the house.

“I don’t want to reconcile with Brenda because she took the soil from my yard and my new wife got very sick, I fear I can die or get arrested,’’ said Kayemba.

The court said that there was no love in the home because there was no sex and that Kayemba brought another woman.

The court ruled a failed reconciliation because Kayemba refused to reunite with his wife.
