Zesco in search of lost spark

By MICHAEL MIYOBA
AFTER giving up a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 to rejuvenated Powers Dynamos, Zesco United will today seek redemption when they face Lusaka Dynamos in a midweek fixture at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.
As defending champions, Zesco have struggled to replicate their form which saw them win the 2020/2021 Super League title.
They take on Lusaka Dynamos seeking maximum points which may propel them back into top four on the Super League table where they occupy ninth position with 18 points.
However, they face a side that has been rejuvenated with a 3-0 win over Indeni FC in their previous fixture.
Lusaka Dynamos will be motivated to overcome the Ndola giants to move out of the legation zone on the Super League table where they are 15th with 14 points.
Meanwhile, Nkwazi FC coach Keegan Phiri is praying his charges will rise to the occasion when they host Indeni in the second fixture of the double header at Edwin Imboela Stadium to bounce back from three consecutive defeats.
Nkwazi face an Indeni FC side that is seeking its first win since David Chilufya took over as head coach.
In the first fixture of the double header at Edwin Imboela Stadium, Kafue Celtics host second-placed Green Eagles who are determined to extend their winning streak.
In other Super League fixtures, League leaders Green Buffaloes will seek their first win in three games after dropping points in the last two fixtures were they only managed to pick a point from last week’s 3-3 draw with Prison Leopards when they face Forest Rangers at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Forest Rangers will aim to bounce back from Saturdays 2-0 defeat to Nkana FC when they host Buffaloes who dominate the Super League with 29 points, six points ahead of second-placed Eagles.
Rejuvenated Power Dynamos are in Solwezi for a date with Lumwana Radiants while Nkana visit Ndola for a date with Buildcon.
Prison Leopards host struggling Konkola Blades at President’s Stadium in Kabwe while Red Arrows return to league action after the elimination from the CAF Confederations Cup with a tie against Kabwe Warriors at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
