UPND president Hakainde Hichilema should accept the fact that President Edgar Lungu is the President of Zambia and all his  efforts to challenge this fact is just a waste of time and resources, says  Zambia Direct Democracy Movement (ZDDM) president  Edwin Sakala.

Mr Sakala said it was his prayer that Mr Hichilema should take his advice seriously this time considering that he could have been president of Zambia if he had taken his earlier advice.

“As one of the oldest political parties in the country which has worked with nearly all the political parties, we write to beg you to accept the fact that President Edgar Changwa Lungu is the President of Zambia,’’ said Mr Sakala.

He said that he may belong to the Patriotic Front camp but the fact was that he felt hurt seeing Mr Hichilema continuing to drift from one court to another when the PF could  also build a solid case against his party.

“We believe that many Zambians are tired of hearing about court cases and we support them, hence our appeal that you stop diverting national attention from real issues of national interest.’’

Mr Sakala said he had no wish to engage the UPND on anything but maybe forced to take him on because he had enough data to prove that the sweeping results in the Southern, Western and North-Western provinces were ‘‘actually engineered’’. Mr Sakala said that if the PF was not keen to probe the big scandal behind the results from the three provinces and to establish what really happened, ZDDM may be forced to follow up the matter. He claimed that he was aware that even the people of Dundumwezi were ‘‘still in shock’’ because they did not understand where the 33,000 votes ‘‘came from in that game park’’.
