KANYAMA IS DIRTIEST CONSTITUENCY – SURVEY

KANYAMA  constituency is the dirtiest while Given Lubinda is the best performing Member of Parliament (MP) in Lusaka Province, according to a survey carried out by the Daily Nation.

Kabwata constituency has been described as the most advanced constituency in the province, while Kanyama constituency has been labelled as the dirtiest and Munali takes the honours for cleanest followed by Kabwata.

According to respondents, Matero constituency MP, Lloyd Kaziya has not been visiting the constituency frequently.

The respondents said that Mr Kaziya has not been performing according to expectations, despite him residing within the constituency.

Most noted that Matero constituency was thriving during the tenure of former MP, Miles Sampa. “Matero constituency is not as it used to be, there is garbage everywhere and the new MP is not performing like the old one,” they said.

Meanwhile, the respondents also indicated that in as much as Ms Phiri was hard working, Kanyama constituency was still the dirtiest in the province.

The respondents advised that the MP should lobby for a robust garbage collection mechanism as the constituency was infested with waste.

Most of the respondents said that they did not know Chawama constituency MP, Lawrence Sichalwe as he has been docile .

The respondents indicated that Mr Sichalwe has been quiet and rated him as the laziest MP in the province.

And the respondents also indicated that Munali constituency has always been clean, even if the area MP, Professor Nkandu Luo was mostly absent.

The respondents explained that the constituency would have been the cleanest, had the MP been more responsive to the needs of the area.

Meanwhile, Lusaka Central constituency MP, Margret Mwanakatwe has been described as the most caring and that she was more responsive to the needs of the people.

Kabwata constituency has been rated the best performing constituency with regards to robust waste management mechanism, modern infrastructure and well planned settlements.

Chongwe, Chilanga and Kafue have been described as average with noticeable improvements in infrastructure.

The common complaint however, was garbage collection which needed to be improved.
