MUSHINDAMO heads of Government departments, the business community and other stakeholders have been called on to get new official presidential portraits so that they are not misled as to who the republican President is.

The call was made by the district commissioner Mr Benson Ngambo following the introduction of the new official presidential portrait.

Mr Ngambo told the Daily Nation in an interview that the new portraits are now available at his office and ready for collection.

“There is a new presidential portrait that has come out, so there is need for all departmental heads, the business community,  civil society organisations, including individuals, to have this new presidential portrait,’’ Mr Ngambo said.

He explained that the new portrait has an orange flag and instrument of power unlike the old one which only had names on it.

The district commissioner emphasized on the need for every institution to have the presidential portrait, saying it prevents people from getting misled of who the President of the country was.

“So, it is very important that every institution gets this portrait,” he said.

He advised all citizens to abide by the law of having presidential portraits, saying it was stated in the law.
