A GROUP of Patriotic Front members from all districts in Eastern Province has been ferried to Lusaka to petition secretary general Davis Mwila to compel Finance Minister, Felix Mutati to choose between his political party, the Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) and the PF.

According to the Daily Nation source, the group has been organised by a provincial senior official and was lodged at Lusaka’s Blue Water Motel in Chawama.

The group is opposed to Mr Mutati using his salary and allowances obtained as Finance Minister to fund his party. The group claims that the MMD in the province was not with the PF.  And a check by Daily Nation at Blue Water Motel last night around 20:40 hours found the lodge fully booked.

One of the motel staff disclosed to a reporter that the rooms had been booked by PF from Eastern province around 19:00hours. A reporter, who pretended to be looking a room, was told members had come for what appeared to be a party gathering scheduled for either today or tomorrow Saturday. This was after a reporter asked a motel staff what a group of PF members were doing in Lusaka at a motel in Chawama constituency.

“There are no rooms boss because they have been booked by PF members who have come from Eastern province so please try somewhere else,” said a motel staff.
