THE evil maneuvers of the UPND to campaign for sanctions against Zambia must be stopped at all cost because the party has become a national security threat, PF media director Sunday Chanda has said.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Nation yesterday, Mr. Chanda revealed that the UPND had engaged in barbaric activities aimed at disturbilising peace in Zambia.

“The UPND is implementing an unpatriotic agenda which must be stopped if Zambia is to continue enjoying peace.”

“They have made several attempts to forcefully impose their leader on the people of Zambia but he has been rejected repeatedly. Now they have resolved to use other unconstitutional ways which will equally fail.”

He explained that the decision by the UPND to campaign for sanctions against Zambia was unpatriotic.

“I don’t think there is a normal patriotic Zambian who will begin to campaign to the international community to impose sanctions on his own country just to fulfill his personal motives.”

“I think it’s high time Zambians stood up and stop the behaviour of HH and his friends in the UPND,” said Mr. Chanda.

Mr Chanda also commended Zambians for maintaining peace in the country and urged them to remain so.

And Mr. Chanda said the PF was still the favorite party of majority Zambians.

He explained that the party had continued to attract hundreds on new members in all the parts of the country due to its pro-poor agenda it was implementing.

Mr. Chanda was commenting on the two UPND provincial officials in Luapula province who recently defected to the ruling party.

James Musenge Chota, who was Luapula Province UPND Information and Publicity Secretary-Media and Gerald Mwaba, who served as party provincial Information and Publicity Secretary-Administration last week resigned from their party to join the PF.

Mr. Chanda further said President Edgar Lungu had demonstrated incomparable good leadership which was attracting many Zambians to join the ruling party.

“President Lungu is a visible leader. He is ever available to lead his children. He is a parent who treats his children equally and fairly. He has demonstrated love for all and he will continue to do so,” said Mr. Chanda.
