PF encouraged to participate in empowerment schemes

By OLIVER SAMBOKO

PATRIOTIC Front members should not shy away from fully participating in government empowerment programmes because this is the only way they can have their share from the national cake, former Siavonga District Commissioner Lovemore kanyama has advised.

Mr Kanyama, now a member of UPND, said in an interview that he had observed that some PF members had not accepted that they had lost the 2021 general election and were shying away from participating in empowerment programmes.

Mr Kanyama said he sympathises with former ruling party members who he said were being brainwashed by the leaders that they should not apply for empowerment funds instead should wait for the PF to bounce back to power.

He has predicted that the PF shall never bounce back to power because of the many injustices they did during their reign in which segregation had formed part of their governance.

He encouraged PF and Zambians at large, especially those opposing the government to swallow the bitter pill and participate in government empowerment programmes that the ruling party under President Hakaimde Hichilema had put in place and be self-reliant.

Mr Kanyama said CDF programmes were real and urged Zambians to ignore negative statements from critics and visit the local authorities across the country and apply for the money.

He further called upon those entrusted to handle CDF across the country not to look at the face but treat everyone as a Zambian as stated by the President of the republic.

Mr Kanyama advised that people could always differ on political grounds but still remain Zambians.

The former DC advised members of the governing party UPND to embrace members of the opposition parties as hunger doesn’t look at the colour, name or political party association.
